Thanksgiving

Wow, what an amazing Thanksgiving we had this year. On Tuesday, Mike told his upper level classes the story of Thanksgiving and on Thursday, Trish told her students. That evening, we had over 20 guests for Thanksgiving. Many were students from Xining, like Joseph, Caleb and Bruce. Mike also helped teach another class and a student remembered him from Xining so he and his wife came as well. We also had current students and friends to come celebrate. Before the meal, we played football, a new experience for them, until the food was ready. Inside, we had a copy of the Georgia vs LSU championship game going. It was from 2005 - and Georgia won - again. Trish told them the story and included why we are thankful. That opened the door to share even more. We spent the next two days recovering and preparing to start all over. A dear friend had asked us to host a national seeker group of about 20 people. So, on Sunday we had another large group in our house. Great times as Trish prepared most of the food with their help, Kenan made mashed potatoes and Mike taught two of the girls how to make biscuits. After a big meal came the Thanksgiving story - this time Trish did it in their language - their not being our students made not speaking English easier. Than, Mike and Trish told the story of Creation, The Fall, Jesus and His death, burial and Resurrection. Afterwards, two of the leaders followed up with some who wanted to believe! Then came football. A large group trying to figure out how to throw a new style of ball. Mike told them to keep the side withe the 'G' logo pointed skyward when throwing. After playing and cleaning, the group left and we crashed. What an amazing time by Father.

We also have a young lady getting ready to visit us. Her name is Anna and we are all very excited. She has finals and will head this way for a whole month! Be thinking for her as she finishes up her first semester of college. We also were able to semi-celebrate Lydia Grace's birthday. We had a friend visiting and they carried her presents to her.
