Wow, am I clueless

I know that comes as a surprise to no one except me. But once again, God thumped me to get my attention. I mean, think about it, surely my being over here is a sign of paying attention. Alas, it is not. The most recent example came just yesterday. We had spent much of the day with the family of the little girl who needs heart surgery. They are in town for tests and preparation for surgery. We were in an area of town where there are many beggars. When they see the white faces, they hone in. We usually have small change to pass out. We always try to speak of HIM when we give money. If I try to run across the street to avoid traffic and they keep up with me, I don't give them anything.
After a busy afternoon of this, we returned home. We were tired so I hopped on my trusty bike and went to McDonald's. I ordered the food and left. On my way out, I saw a guy who looked drunk, hungry, out of it - he was in a unique state. My first thought was, "Give him one of your burgers." I usually get a few extra, Kenan's a growing boy, plus I was going to snack on one as I pedaled back. As I got to my bike, HE thumped me. "If I told you to give him one, you better do it!" I realized I didn't need an extra (I haven't missed many meals) and the verse from Matthew - even unto the least of these! I begged HIM, let the guy still be around. I don't want to miss the opportunity. I did catch him, and as I gave him the burger, he looked quite surprised. I have learned enough language to tell people the basics of who HE is and why HE wants me to help them. It was humbling. Here I am, with huge blessings in my life, and I hesitated to part with a burger. I can't turn water to wine or stones to bread, but thanks to HIM, I can turn 70 cents into a cheeseburger. Yarp for me to continue to grow in that path and stop being selfish - with my stuff and my time.

I've been in those situations myself.
Me: There's a guy walking on the side of the road.
Him: You have a car with a heater. He has a coat and it's freezing.
Me: Good point!

You've got to love Him!

Hope you all are doing good. I continually lift you all up. Can't wait to see you again. With love.
